PowerPoint to PDF, one slide to a page
Slides into pages
Drop a .pptx, .ppt or .odp file on the convert page, and each slide becomes a page of the PDF, at the slide's own shape and size, in the deck's order. Speaker notes, comments and hidden slides are left out, as they are from a printout. A PDF plays nothing, so animations, transitions and video come out as the slide standing still. A photo on a slide keeps its picture, but what the camera noted beside it, such as where it was taken, is left out of the PDF.
Convert PowerPoint to PDF now — it opens the tool, with nothing to install.
Fonts on slides
Decks often use a typeface the server does not have, a brand's own say. LibreOffice, which lays the slides out on our own server in place of PowerPoint, then sets that text in a stand-in face, which can push a line onto another or out of its box. Microsoft's core fonts are on the server itself, though; Calibri and Cambria are drawn in fonts of the same widths, and Aptos in the nearest the server has. A replaced face is reported where it can be detected, and the slides are never said to match PowerPoint's exactly.
Decks with a password
A deck that asks for a password before it opens is refused, untouched: the converter cannot take a password, and nothing here tries to get past one. Nor does anything in a deck run: its macros are switched off, and LibreOffice has no way to reach the internet from here.
The handout and the photos too
Slides, a handout written in Word and the photos from the day can go into one PDF together, in the order you set. A long deck with many pictures takes more time than a photo; one that runs past the time allowed is halted, with a message saying so, and one whose pictures need more memory than a conversion has is declined, before anything is drawn if their sizes can be read from the file.
How much at once
One conversion takes up to 50 files, 32 MB of them in all, and each file up to the size your plan uploads. For more files, convert them in batches and join the PDFs with Merge PDF. The PDF it makes holds no more pages than your plan allows in one document.
The record
The PDF says how it was made, in the record it carries and in your account's trail. For each file it names the kind, the fingerprint, and that LibreOffice laid it out, which version of it did, and whether the layout may differ, and why. The files you send are kept only until the conversion has answered; the PDF is kept with your documents like any other, and deleted after 90 days, or whenever you erase it. What a download costs is on the pricing page.
Other files into PDF
Every kind of file the converter takes, and what the PDF keeps of each, is on Convert to PDF.
And then
- Merge PDF, to put it together with other PDFs
- Protect PDF, to give the PDF a password before it goes out
- Add page numbers, to number the finished pages
