Terms: what the service does, and the rules of use

What this service does

CECO corrects text in a PDF and then checks its own work: it re-renders the document before and after at 300 dots per inch and compares them pixel by pixel. A correction is only offered for download when nothing outside the edited region has changed. That check is the product.

What “verified” means, and what it does not

It means one thing precisely: at 300 dpi, no pixel outside the region declared by the edit differs from the original. It is a statement about the image, and it is made by the software about its own output.

It is not a statement that the corrected document is accurate, lawful, or acceptable to whoever receives it, and it is not evidence of anybody's authority to have made the change. No software can tell you those things.

Who may alter a document

You may only correct documents you are entitled to alter. This service does not attempt to judge that — it will not refuse a document because it looks official, and no automated check can establish whether a person is authorised to change one. What it does instead is record: every correction is written to an append-only audit trail with the attestation you gave, and the file carries a provenance record naming it as a corrected copy.

Using it to forge, falsify, or misrepresent a document is a misuse of the service and, in most places, a criminal offence. Accounts doing so are closed.

Your documents remain yours

Uploading a document grants no rights over it beyond what is needed to process, store and return it to you. It is not read by anyone, not used to train anything, and not shared. See the privacy notice for how long it is kept and how to erase it.

Paying, and changing your mind

Payments are taken by Paddle.com Market Ltd, who are the seller of record and who issue the receipt. Their terms apply to the transaction itself.

Subscriptions renew until cancelled and can be cancelled at any time; the plan runs to the end of the period already paid for. Document credits do not expire. What each plan costs is on the pricing page.

If something did not work, write and say so — a refund for a plan you have not used is not something anyone should have to argue for. Refunds can be requested within 14 days of a purchase, as the refund policy describes.

Availability

This service is provided as it is, without a guaranteed level of availability. Corrections are checked before they are offered, but no undertaking is given that the service will be uninterrupted or that every document can be corrected — some are refused deliberately, which is described in the application at the point of refusal.

Ending it

You can stop using the service and erase everything held about you at any time, from within the application. CECO L.L.C. may close an account that is being used to falsify documents or to attack the service.
